Dear All, Mar 9, 2016
About 7:00 am and 10:00 am today the Multiflora Rose tangle in the
adjacent yard was mobbed briefly by ~30 Cedar Waxwings; presumably feeding
on the hips.
Several days after I saw them feeding on Holly berries at Evergreen
Nursing Home (Mar 4) I noticed them attempting to feed on Ornamental Crab
fruit there. These apples were 5 mm diam. dry and many were too tough to
gouge with a thumbnail; suggests last resort diet ?
