No, he says that isn't it. He seems set on a Grosbeak. He has books and has
done some research before he contacted me.
thanks for replying. I appreciate it

I have a question for you birders. A friend in on Meadow Pond Lane, just as
you come out of Liverpool toward White Point, in Queens Co. has been seeing
a bird he can't find in his books. He is sure it is a Grosbeak. He would be
familiar with them. The bird is all red, like a Cardinal but it is not a
Cardinal, for sure, he said. It is travelling with a Rose-breasted Grosbeak.
Has anyone else seen anything like this?
He will try to get a photo but he said his camera isn't a good one and the
feeder is a bit distant. He hasn't seen it today, he did see it (them)
several times over the past week.
Marg
