I returned from Florida yesterday (Friday Mar 31) where I had become
accustomed to seeing butterflies daily. I did a doubletake when I realized
that the Mourning Cloak that I was seeing was in my Cole Harbour yard.
I understand that this species over winters as adults and is one of those
that show up early in the season. Friday was sunny and warm I hope it
survived todays rain and cold.
Does anyone know if this is an especially early showing.

Cole Harbour
P.S. I also had bees exploring the Crocus Friday.
