Yesterday afternoon at Palmeter Woods (W. Kentville), there were at least 4 Queen B. ternarius (Bumble Bees) along the main trail. Could not get a photo as they were continuously moving as they searched for a suitable nest hole. Odd location for a nest as they would be far from any nectar/pollen plants?

There were a few singing birds including Yellow-rumps, 1 Black & White Warbler, a Brown Creeper.

In the Scotian Gold Plant yard, I noted among the piles of stacked boxes, there were some that still had apples in them, now quite fermented. A flock of at least 20 Cedar Waxwings were flying from the trees to the boxes. None of them appeared to be tipsy unlike a few years ago when the apples were left in piles and attracted Robins. Some Robins had difficulty standing upright.
