Some swifts flew low over the tops of the hemlocks in Jeremy=92s Bay
campground, Kejimkujik, this afternoon (natural habitat, alas!). I =
couldn=92t
see how many and they did not make a =91return flight=92. I asked the =
workers
in the campground to keep their ears open for more presence in the =
coming
days. (It=92s hard to see them through the trees, so I was interested =
in
making the folks working there more aware of their calls.) =20

Hello Chaetura fans,
=20
At the Middleton R. H. S. chimney, 80 swifts entered this evening (11 =
May)
between 2102 and 2106, mostly at 2104. A few others veered off and did =
not
return before I left at 2112. They had been swirling around feeding =
from
soon after my arrival at 2047. Sky was clear, temperature 14=B0C., and =
wind
0-5 km/h NW. First that I have seen this year, but I wasn't here =
earlier.
