I can=E2=80=99t be quantitative, but seems to me, eagles are considerably m=
ore common down here in Yarmouth than they were a generation ago. They are=
n=E2=80=99t up to the densities seen in parts of Kings County, but so far b=
ut they and vultures are n the increase.

Osprey abundance is what=E2=80=99s down. Have hears some folks say they su=
spect predation on osprey chicks by eagles.

I am curious as to whether the turkey vulture will be as successful in King=
s Co where the eagles have a strong =E2=80=98foot-hold=E2=80=99. It is str=
iking the difference between Annapolis and Kings County vulture populations=
=2E I had four turkey vultures soar low over my backyard this afternoon. =
I wiggled my toes to let them know I wasn=E2=80=99t dead (though I was a li=
ttle tuckered out from the migration count and nature hike today, ha, ha). =

There were 2 soaring along the edge of the North Mountain above Canning thi=
s morning. They're not very common in Kings Co.
