The unusual spring migration occurrence of shorebirds seems to be =
drawing to a close, with reduced numbers being seen.
At Three Fathom Harbour, sightings of migrants passing through were:
May 22 (with Pat McKay):
Black-bellied Plover 1
Semipalmated Sandpiper 3
Short-billed Dowitcher 71 (seasonal high count)
May 29:
Black-bellied Plover 3
Short-billed Dowitcher 10
At West Chezzetcook Marsh:
May 29:
Black-bellied Plover 22
The unusual shorebird fallout was also seen in Cape Breton. My counts =
of migrants were:
Morien Bar and adjacent marshes:
May 20:
Black-bellied Plover 1
Semipalmated Sandpiper 6
White-rumped Sandpiper 1
Short-billed Dowitcher 30
