A Stilt Sandpiper was found at Shorebird Cove, HRM on Sunday morning (17 July) by Susann Myers, two hours before low tide.  The bird still has a bright rufous cheek patch.  Susann and I observed it feeding among small numbers of Lesser Yellowlegs and Short-billed Dowitchers.  More of those species, together with Willets, Semipalmated Sandpipers and Semipalmated Plovers, were found shortly after on the flats behind nearby Three Fathom Harbour.
