There was a Monarch before the bridge at Miner's Marsh on July 23. There ar=
e large stands of Milkweed there although the Milkweed left of the trail is=
too high/large to interest the Monarchs (cf. Larry Bogan). Considering the=
amount of Milkweed=2C Monarchs show little interest in the area since my n=
orm there is one per summer.

Did not get around to mentioning that I found a lone Monarch flittering aro=
und in the entrance area to the Miner's Marsh (Kentville) on Saturday=2C Ju=
ly 16th=2C shortly after 5 30 pm. Didn't notice whether there were milkwee=
ds there or not. It was very warm and not windy. =20

Larry and all -
saw my first Monarch of the year late this afternoon (July 24) here in Kent=
ville.
Interestingly=2C it was the first Monarch I've ever observed at that partic=
ular location (a spot I've been monitoring very regularly for a number of y=
ears)-- as far as I am aware=2C there is no Milkweed present at this site.
Cheers=2C
