Hello all,

I'm curious as to whether others have been having a good summer with
regard to moth numbers at their lamps. Here at Round Hill, I'd call
it a so-so kind of year. I've have had almost no Sphinx and certainly
not in the usual numbers. Just one Luna and one Cecropia earlier on.
I've had quite a few of the smaller moths -- or I should say, I've had
some new "firsts" here, so that's been interesting, but I'd say
numbers of moths are down and I have not seen quite a few of my
regular moths from past years - and that has been especially true with
the Sphinx moths. As always, it is perplexing when numbers are down.
I have a new lamp which I tested out in Arizona and it seemed to bring
in moths well down there and seems to do so on some evenings, but many
nights, I'm not getting many moths at all. Perhaps this is weather
related as many nights were on the cool side. Anyhow, I'm just
tossing out the question to see what others have observed.
Also, I just finished updating my Round Hill Moths gallery -- adding
the latest "firsts". It's probably getting to be a pretty good
resource for those in the Annapolis Valley region who are observing
moths.

And, Derek Bridgehouse - if you read this, can you drop me a line as I
seem to have lost your email address.
