<span style="font-size: 12pt;">Today had been Donna's Loon Day at Keji but<br/></span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">the fires and all forced her to do a 2 week postponement.<br/></span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">But I was lonesome for the loons so I went and sat on the Boat Launch<br/></span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">at Church Lake for a few hours after supper. Pretty soon a group of<br/></span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">5 Loons swam down the lake fishing all the way. Then they turned<br/></span>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">and swam back up the lake but nobody bothered the fish. All looked<br/></span>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">to be mature loons - no chicks. Then a pair flew over head - high up heading<br/></span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">towards the salt water. Maybe looking for a feed of Green Crabs. So<br/></span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">the loons were fine , Donna knows how to pick the days!<br/></span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">In the lily pads in front of the ramp was a brood of Wood Ducks, the mother<br/></span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">with 4 ducklings. About half grown. I often see Wood Duck broods in the area.<br/></span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">On the way home a flock of about 6 Nighthawks were hawking insects over the<br/></span>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">road as I drove along. The area has a lot of rocky outcrops so maybe they nest<br/></span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">in the area. No shortage of insects either!<br/></span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">First Nighthawks I've seen this year but I don't get out as much as I used to!<br/></span>
</div>
