> SEPT. 30, 2016 - Today at high tide I drove over the Gaspereau River =
where it crosses hw. 101 at Horton Landing. Right there the power line =
that crosses the river held about 20 perched double-crested cormorants.
>=20
> I was headed for the Windsor sewage ponds about an hour past high =
tide. My highlight there was, among the approximately 170+ Canada =
geese, one goose looked normal except for its neck, which was mottled =
black-and-white for the whole length of the neck.

> Other birds seen there included:

> 30 black ducks;
> 500+ starlings in one big flock;
> 2 herring gulls;
> 10 ring-billed gulls;
> 1 unidentified yellowlegs;
> 1 unidentified dowitcher;
> 2 American wigeons;
> 1 teal, prob. green-winged?

> Cheers from Jim in Wolfville.
