Hi all:

The cattle egret is still tending at Bayport. It was present today and was=
observed by a few people including myself. I've spoken to the owners of t=
he property where the egret is tending, Tim and Theresa. They do not mind =
people coming for to see the bird as long as it does not get out of hand. =
So if you would like to go for the bird send me an email and I'll let you k=
now where it is. That way I can monitor how many people are showing up and=
I can insure that we do not make it uncomfortable for the property owners.=
From conversations with both I do not think it will become an issue, but =
better safe than sorry.

Kevin Lantz found a yellow-breasted chat the other day just up from where o=
ne turns into the First Peninsula road. If you park at the entrance to Fir=
st Peninsula and walk along the main drag of the Back Harbour Road back tow=
ards Lilydale, a short ways along there is a culvert with a load of multifl=
ora. This is where the chat is tending. I got to see it today, but it was=
very skulky. A bonus was a northern mockingbird at the same location.

I had a hawk being pursued by American crows at First Peninsula quite close=
to the entrance. I cannot say 100 percent for sure, but I suspect it was =
a red-shouldered hawk rather than a red-tailed hawk of which I often see at=
this location. It did not have the knuckles of the red-tail. I suspect i=
t was a juvenile bird and unfortunately I did not have time to see the whit=
e crescent. The hawk was extremely pale, with the reddish wash to the tail=
. It disappeared before I clued in to taking a photo and I could not reloc=
ate it.
