Hi All,

While having a cup of tea with a friend today she looked out my kitchen=
window and spotted a large hawk standing on the ground about 10' from the =
window. I turned to look and was surprised to see a 1st year juvenile Gosha=
wk standing over a dead bird. As it started plucking feathers from its vict=
im and I managed to capture a few short segments of video before it flew of=
f with its catch to a less open setting.

This is the third Goshawk I've observed at my house over the years and=
the first that hasn't been the result of a window hit. The only downside o=
f this sighting was that the victim was a Grackle that had been hanging abo=
ut for the last few days and not one of the many Blue Jays that are here ev=
ery day. All the best.

                          Fritz McEvoy
