I use Thunderbird too. It may have happened because you hit the Windows
(start) key and the space bar. This changes your keyboard preference.
At the bottom of my screen it shows "ENG". If I click on it I have the
choice to make the keyboared US, Canada, French, etc. Use this to get
back to Canada or US.
