I'm probably going to date myself with this but we picked up a humdoozy of =
a new species to bring us to 187.
The new one is:
* Thayer's Gull, Alix d'Entremont and Paul Gould at the Dennis Point W=
harf, Lower West Pubnico, Yarmouth County
Here are some notables missing from the WBL so far:
Missing species we have listed 19 or 20 times out of the last 20 years
* Atlantic Puffin
* Eastern Meadowlark (last winter was our first miss on this in 20 ye=
ars)
Missing species we have listed 16 - 18 times out of the last 20 years
* Lincoln Sparrow
* Long-eared Owl (previously every year but MIA in 2 of the last 3 ye=
ars)
Other notables missing so far
* Redhead (12 of the last 14 years)
* King Eider (previously fairly regular but MIA in the last 3 winters=
)
* Carolina Wren (8 of the last 10 and has made the DoWL in 7 of those=
years) DoWL =3D Depth of Winter List-Observed in February
* Varied Thrush (8 of the last 9 years)
* Hoary Redpoll (7 out of last 11 years)
* Field Sparrow (13 out of the last 15 years)
