Hi all Tonight was the third swiftwatch night of the year. At Temperance St School Apartments in New Glasgow, I arrived at 20:28. There were no swifts present when I pulled into parking lot across from the apartments but 2 arrived twittering and went in at 20:30. I was starting to wonder if the cool evening had caused the birds to enter the chimney early but before long 100 or more were flying about. Periodically a couple would go in the chimney and about 30 were in by 20:50. The number of birds circling the chimney was rapidly increasing by leaps and bounds and 160 entered just before Judy Kendell and Emily Gillis pulled up beside me at 20:54 It was great to have someone to share the wonderful swift show and about 360 more went in about 2 min after the 160. Stragglers periodical entered till 20:16. We left with happy smiles at 21:23 and my nights total was a season high of 627. Cheers Ken. Sent from my iPad
