Today we were visited by Red Admirals, Painted Ladies, 2 fritillaries (one
was lovely fresh looking, the other missing a good portion of it lower left
hand wing) and I am pleased to say 2 Mourning Cloaks came to feed on rotten
apples. It has been a couple years since we have seen those. They used to
congregate here for drunken parties with hard apple cider.
I am sad to say the eggs from the Monarchs did hatch (no sign of any now)
but I think the ants got them.

Totally off subject. A number of crows are coming each day, picking apples
and flying away with them or dropping them near me when I am out and about
They are also staying to party back in the apple trees.
