Hi all

The next presentation of the Pictou Co Naturalists will be Tues Oct 3, 6:30
pm at the New Glasgow Library community room. The topic will be The Secret
lives of Atlantic Puffins.

Amy-Lee Kouwenberg will share results of research she conducted on this very
photogenic and interesting seabird with colleagues at Memorial University of
Newfoundland to tell us about what's going on in puffin burrows during the
summer breeding season and where adult puffins go in the vast, cold north
Atlantic once their chicks have fledged.

Amy-Lee was brought up in a 4H family in Pugwash and has a BSc with
Agricultural Sciences Univ of Guelph, MSc and PHD in Cognitive and
Behavioural Ecology from Memorial University. Amy-Lee is currently working
as Bird Projects Biologist with Bird Studies Canada (Atlantic) in Sackville
NB.

Amy-Lee has just completed working as Maritimes SwiftWatch Coordinator for
2017 Bird Studies Canada

Sackville, NB) and had previous positions as Aquatic Science Biologist
(2016, DFO, St. John's, NL), Wildlife Technician (2015, ECCC, St. John's,
NL) and Wildlife Biologist

(2014, ECCC, St. John's, NL). Amy-Lee's research has been quite varied (and
timely with regard to climate changes) when looking at some of the research
topics below*

Come on out and learn about this fascinating seabird. Everyone welcome and
bring along a friend!
