Would this be an example of the Chaga Mushroom (Inonotus obliquus):https://www.flickr.com/photos/150605880@N07/38094068941/in/dateposted-public/ Seems to me it was not present yesterday when I walked along this road but I must have missed it or they grow very fast. My cousins' boys were collecting Chaga this Fall around Sussex, NB and were selling it at the St. John Farmer's Market. They made quite a profit. Nancy E Dalhousie, Kings Co.
