Hi Nancy & All,
<br/>     It is especially appreciated in late winter to ju=
dge from bird activity in the nearby bushes and red splotches in the snow. =
It would be great if the thornless strain could become predominant.

Overlooking its faults, Multiflora Rose is a seriously bird-friend=
ly shrub judging by the number of pictures on the NSBS Facebook page lately=
showing regular and unusual birds in its branches and feeding on the roseh=
ips. One has to wonder if it=E2=80=99s spread has contributed to the number=
of migrants lingering later into the Fall and Winter? It certainly seems t=
o help them survive at least.
