Wow thanks Mark. The high number for that early must have flagged them for =
needing approval and they must have just been approved last night because =
last evening I had searched on the eBird provincial page to see if were sh=
owing up December and there wasn=92t any=97the last sighting was listed as =
Angie=92s at Three Fathom Harbour in November. I check out many of your spr=
eadsheets, especially early on, but I don=92t get to them all but I should =
have found this one=97what a checklist!

Subject: [NatureNS] Update to the Blake Maybank Winter Bird List (160)
We are now at 160 species.
Additions since the last update:
Spruce Grouse =96 Chris Pepper a few days ago, I forgot to ask where.
Common Gallinule =96 Eric and Barbara Ruff, Overton. Only the 3rd time on o=
ur WBL
Broad-winged Hawk =96 good description from Carmel Smith, on her farm outsi=
de Bridgewater. She also had a Red-tailed Hawk and a Northern Goshawk there=
today!
The core species we are still missing (the white rows in the spreadsheet).
Brant =96 One hasn=92t flown within 5k of Mark yet
Ruddy Duck
Pied-billed Grebe
Wilson=92s Snipe
American Woodcock
Dovekie =96 The biggest surprise to me. The flip side of the tame start to =
winter
Mew Gull (Common)
Long-eared Owl
Short-eared Owl
Northern Saw-whet Owl
Northern Shrike
Brown Thrasher
Bohemian Waxwing =96 They will be in numbers in a few weeks but odd not hav=
e a single one yet
Fox Sparrow =96 another surprise
Eastern Meadowlark =96 used to be core but we dipped 2 of the last 3 years.=
I=92m tardy booting this species from our core list. I=92ll do it before t=
he next update
Pine Grosbeak
Common Redpoll
There may be a short delay before the spreadsheet gets uploaded but for mor=
e info or to view, download the WBL spreadsheet, visit our Winter Birds pag=
e under Library at http://nsbirdsociety.ca/
