All three common Woodpeckers were drumming on this cold, sunny morning: Pileateds, Hairys and Downys. I only managed a decent recording of the Hairy Woodpecker rapid fire drums. You can listen to it on this (very unexciting) eBird checklist https://ebird.org/canada/view/checklist/S42625057 or at the Macauley library https://search.macaulaylibrary.org/catalog?taxonCode=haiwoo&mediaType=a&q=Hairy%20Woodpecker%20-%20Picoides%20villosus

Starting to stake out territories or maybe just responding to environmental cues suggesting Spring? Best time of the year to see and hear woodpeckers in the woods.
