On our way home from town about an hour ago, we checked the Meadow Pond just
as you leave Liverpool. No Heron. We decided to run over to Summerville to
check the Marsh and there was the Great Egret. It showed up well against the
marsh colours and also there was the Great Blue Heron. I have seen one of
them move before but not to change location aside from taking flight. Wow
What a wonderful sight. It strode behind th Great Egret and off toward the
highway. The Great Egret took to wing (lovely) and moved quite a bit closer
to us.......and we had no camera. We got quite excited as we saw more necks
and so we went to check from another angle, up where the garage was and the
other "necks" turned out to be 6 Canada Geese. It was a good day. I am glad
we checked. Also saw a Bald Eagle at Summerville.
Two Bald eagles, one mature, one not, out over the area here today today.
It is pretty quiet here at the feeders, not so in the trees about the
neighbourhood! Lots of bird speak. I think there is a bit of everything in
the yard.
Superstore has Sugar on for 1.99 so we now have Hummingbird food makings.
