I walked over to Crescent and walked the Beach and looked at the flats. Th=
ere were 76 Purple Sandpipers at the Follies. They were travelling from roc=
k to rock in flocks and were as close as 6 feet from the shore.
Willets are back and I counted 16. There were 6 Greater Yellowlegs. These =
were the shorebirds present today April 30th. My friends the Wrights have =
two pairs of tree swallows in two different swallow boxes. Janet Baxter ha=
s a family of Barred owls that have the young already fledged and are teach=
ing them the ropes. She lives on the Watermills Road.
