Thanks for the reminder, Larry. Here at the base of the South Mountain we =
rarely see Monarchs in recent years (nor milkweeds), but I saw an adult flu=
tter by my back door this a.m., only the second Monarch that I have seen th=
is year. The other was at Grand Pr=E9 (south side) on Robie Tufts day (11 =
August).

The following is a message from Mission-Monarch:

Fall is coming and the monarchs are getting ready to migrate. The caterpill=
ars we see now will become the adult monarchs that will soon leave on their=
long journey to Mexico. But before they take off for their wintering groun=
ds, we still need your help to understand monarchs routes and numbers.
People have carried out over a thousand missions this summer, and we are c=
ounting on you to keep it going! You can share your observations of monarch=
s and milkweed until late in the fall. These late-season data will provide =
valuable information on the migratory generation and how monarchs are adapt=
ing to our increasingly longer summers.
