I understand we are to keep track of what birds we see, but not the numbers,
for Dec.? It has been an interesting two days so far.
We have hosted: Blue Jays, Starlings, Crows, Grackles, Red-winged
Blackbirds, Evening Grosbeaks, Purple Finch, Chickadees, Juncos,
Woodpeckers: both Downys and Hairys, Nuthatches: both Red and White
breasted, Sparrows; Song, White Throated, Fox and a Chipping sparrow.
American Goldfinches, a solitary Pine Siskin, Mourning Doves, a Sharp
Shinned Hawk and another very fast predator that the Sharpie was chasing.
Impression is all pointy, very small head and very, very fast.
Aside from the birds we have 2 Chipmunks and a Squirrel. A friend down the
shore was delighted to inform me he has Flying Squirrels attending his
feeder. I am so envious!
