Hi Suzanne,

I don't live in Cape Breton, but if you use eBird you can find the
"Hotspots" anywhere in the world.
Go to: www.ebird.ca
Then on the menu bar click "Explore"
On the right hand side click on "Explore Hotspots"
On the top left type in "Grand Etang" a list will drop down and click on
the one in Inverness CB
Click on the green "View Details" and you can see which birds have been
seen and when (so far it isn't an active hotspot, but you could change that
pretty quickly) If you click on the "Hotspot Map" in the top left you will
return to the Hotspot map of Cape Breton and you can find places that are
close to Grand Etang that people have birded. You will also see the names
of the birders, however eBird is not a social media site so contacting
these people is done outside of eBird. If you are not a member of eBird you
can join for free by clicking on the green "Create Account" on the top
right of each page. If eBird is new to you spend some time exploring the
menu bar choices, it is easy to get distracted or lost, just click the
eBird Canada logo in the top left and you will return to the beginning.

Hope this is of some help,

George Forsyth
