I found a female red-bellied woodpecker today. It was on the hardwoods jus=
t before house 191 when you turn off the road that runs from Lunenburg to M=
ahone Bay, which takes you out to Second Peninsula. I had a good look at i=
t, but was not able to get any photos. The sun was in the wrong place and =
I maneuvered to catch the bird right. It at that point went behind the tre=
e. It then flew to a tree branch further back of which my view for a photo=
was hampered. I moved and was zooming in when it flew again. I could hea=
r it calling after that, but could not relocate it.

I did not find the northern mockingbird at the entrance to Second Peninsula=
, but that does not say that it was not still there.

I also did not relocate the Baltimore Oriole at First Peninsula found by Sy=
lvia Craig and David Currie. I believe that birds have moved on that were =
there though as the three chipping sparrow I had by house 23 the other day =
were not present today. There were 200 Bohemian waxwings along Kissing Bri=
dge Road though.
