About 4:30 this afternoon chez nous on Wyman Road, south of Yarmouth.
Perched in a Japanese quince bush, about twelve feet to the north of the
window. Fine weather; viewing conditions good. Size was right; bluish-grey
dorsally. Breast was vertically streaked, neck was pale, cap was dark. No
remarkable facial markings (wish I'd had a book in my hands).

When it was scared off, I could not as good look as I wanted at the wings,
but they were longer than I'd expect from a sharp-shin. Were they pointed?
Think so, but couldn't see well enough to be sure.

I initially suspected a maturing sharpshin, but the neck-cap contrast did it
for me.
