<span style="font-size: 12pt;">Yesterday was so nice the canoe asked to go for a paddle.</span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">So we went to Church Lake but it was quite windy and rough so</span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">we went up the swamp for a little.</span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">The water in the lake is high so it was easy to navigate the swamp.</span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">Not many flies yet - a few midges and stoneflies was about all. So no</span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">birds yet except for a few pairs of Mallards.</span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">The Pitcher-plants really show up this time of year. They are all over the swamp</span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">but when the other things start to grow they are not as visible.</span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">An interesting part of the stream was where the bottom had been scoured</span>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">clean in some way. About 3 canoe lengths as a guess. The bottom there was fine gravel</span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">up to about pea size. Never saw an area like that before. A good spawning bed maybe.</span>
