Hi All,

There was nocturnal migration recorded during six out of seven nights this
week, the most consistent pattern of movement for this spring to date. The
largest movement occurred on the night of 7-8 May when backing winds from
southwest to northwest over the Gulf of Maine and Bay of Fundy brought a
small flight of sparrows and warblers to the Beaver River shore between 0200
and 0430 hours.

The most common bird of the week was White-throated Sparrow with 25
estimated birds. There were also an estimated 14 Savannah Sparrows and 3
Chipping Sparrows. The most common warbler was Black-and-white Warbler with
an estimated 7 birds, followed by 4 Yellow-rumped Warblers, 4 Palm Warblers,
and 1 Common Yellowthroat.

More information can be found here
<https://johnfkearney.com/category/nocturnal-migration-journal/> . Species
information can be found on eBird (go to Explore-Species Maps-Yarmouth
County).

John
