I received this email from Peter Austin Smith of Lands and Forestry
Wildlife Division in Kentville. Imagine plenty of folks reading this have
made the trek out there with Jim Wolford at least once over the years, if
you haven't done this before, it's an awesome trip.

Best,
Ian

"Hi Folks,

One of the many projects I work on is the Treasured Wetlands of Nova Scotia
where we select several wetlands in the province as outstanding
representatives of wetland types, or supply significant benefits to Nova
Scotia, each year.

One of the wetlands this year is the Blomidon Vernal pool, located in the
Blomidon Provincial Park. An event will be held June 1st at 10am, to
recognize its selection as a Treasured Wetland; John Brazner of the Dept.
of Lands and Forestry will lead a guided walk to the pool and discuss the
unique features of these important wetlands. Start time for 10am, roughly
until 12 if you are interested.

There will be a pre-registration for this event so you may have to search
Treasured Wetlands on Facebook/twitter if you have it. If you do not have
social media, I can give you more information as the date gets closer"
