There are a few pairs every year and for some reason they choose to nest under the ramps that go down to the floats rather than under stationary sections. A secure place but one that goes up and down several feet on every tide. This year one pair chose to nest in a small vent on the deck of a 30ft sailboat which is out of the water and being worked on. Watching them they seem to completely ignore the work going on within a few feet of the nest.
