It's hopeful when we see chicks and especially two of them.  We cannot 
assume full 'success' until mid- to late-August, once the young have 
reached a larger size and are less easily preyed upon. Keep an eye on 
them.  Generally only one chick makes it through from a double clutch.  
It would be nice to hear a late August Loon report if you have one.
