r's Marsh & Message for Paolo
Hi Everyone;
Bob McDonald showed where he saw the Green Heron yesterday; but it was not =
seen when we arrived. After about half an hour I decided to walk partway ar=
ound the marsh to see if I could spot it - more to keep warm than anything =
else.=C2=A0 I passed another birder on the way, Paolo, and he suggested tha=
t if I saw it, to raise both arms up and he would come back.=C2=A0 He agree=
d to do the same thing.=C2=A0 As I started back along the trail, I saw Bob =
raise both his arms up and I hurried to his location.=C2=A0 We both got fai=
rly good looks at the GRHE and we both signalled Paolo, but he never turned=
around to look at us. =C2=A0
Tomorrow should be warmer and sunnier and chances are good that the Heron w=
ill still be there.
Directions:=C2=A0 Beside house #129 Red Fern Terrace,=C2=A0 off Langbrae, w=
hich is off Parkland,=C2=A0 there is an access path to the marsh.=C2=A0 At =
the foot of this path and slightly to the left there is a bench.=C2=A0 Betw=
een the path and the bench (about 35 feet) is the best spot to view the Her=
on.=C2=A0 Look closely at the grassy tufts and along their muddy edges. =C2=
=A0
Happy birding!
