<span style="font-size: 12pt;">Yesterday afternoon after replenishing the wood supply I</span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">sat at the computer and a stonefly walked up the screen.</span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">Species unknown - as an angler I would call it a Little Black Stonefly.</span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">As the wood is near the brook probably got on me as I split wood.</span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">According to the books they hatch year round as long as there is open water.</span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">The hatch backs up in the winter so there is a flush come spring.</span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">The sparrows and chickadees knew about that as they were searching</span>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">the bushes along the river just after daylight this morning. They may have</span>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">read the same book as I.</span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">When I came here I let the red maples grow along the brook and each</span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">fall they repay me by dropping a good supply of leaves in the water.</span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">The stoneflies feed on those. Sort of long term putting out bird feed!</span>
</div>
