I agree with David on this one. There are ways to open some parks while =
maintaining distancing, and help maintain mental health at the same =
time.

Hi James,=20
=20
I was not responding to you. I responded to David Webster, who called =
the closure of parks "an abuse of power," and asked me to, "Please =
explain how walking alone in Miners Marsh, where there is ample room for =
social distancing, can endanger anyone."
=20
Cheers,

Hi all:

I'm not sure if this was directed towards me or towards someone else. =
If you are directing it towards me than I'd like to set the record =
straight. I'm not thumbing the Emergency Public Health Order. It was =
not me who went to the beach, I'm just the reportee. I'm not disputing =
what the government is doing in any way. I should have added that the =
restrictions are there to protect myself and others from the virus. I'm =
aware of that. My whole point is that I don't want others to go to =
beaches after the birds. The posting was only for the record. To also =
set the record straight I'm working from home and social distancing. I =
have not had any association with my friends, birding or otherwise other =
than through email or over the phone. I also have not visited my dad or =
any of my family members. With the odd exception I only leave the house =
for necessities of life. I've taken a few walks around home and have =
gone for the odd drive. The drive is always by myself and usually =
associated with car repairs or for a trip for food or meds. Any photos =
that I've taken since social distancing has come into effect were =
through my car window or when taking a walk close to home or in a place =
where I'm allowed to go. I usually run three owl monitoring routes. We =
have been advised not to do them at this point and I have not. I run a =
breeding bird survey the end of May and into June, which we have been =
advised not to do and I will not. Today we have been advised to not run =
shorebird surveys for the spring. I will follow that. As to Parker's =
post if this was directed towards me you should know about who you are =
talking about and get your facts straight before you post something like =
this. I have not gone to any beaches or been on beaches so it is going =
to be pretty hard for someone to report me, fine me or impound my =
vehicle. =20
