I was sitting in Tupperville this evening when a male rose-breasted
grosbeak perched in a shade tree, then flew overhead.  It did not vocalize.

White-breasted nuthatches were very busy this evening feeding some noisy
nestlings in the nest box in the cherry tree.  They should be 'picture
perfect' if they fledge with the cherry blossoms are out.

The wood duck is still incubating eggs in her nest box on the pond.  One
would never know she was there except for an occasional flight.  She is
very low profile.  I can understand now how a wood duck could possibly
nest right under one's nose without much sign except for the early
morning, brief, April visits from the pair during the egg laying
process.  Humans and predators could be out-smarted easily!
