JUNE 8/20 =97 DUSK AT UNIVERSITY HALL, ACADIA UNIV., WOLFVILLE. Nice =
evening, 15 degrees C., clear sky, no wind or very slight breze from =
east.

I arrived at 8:48 p.m. (sunset time was 8:57 in Herald newspaper). My =
eyesight acuity is terrible now, so that I cannot see the chimney swifts =
at the distances tried tonight, and I often had to use my binoculars, =
which meant I could only see a small part of the sky.

I saw up to 4 flying swifts from 8:52 on, and the first entries into the =
sw. chimney were at about 9:05, then sporadically until 9:21. =20

My guess is that I saw a total of 20+ chimney swifts, but there could =
have been substantially more than that. =20

Now we need some better observers to monitor the numbers there. Tony =
Napoli last watched at Robie Tufts Nature Centre on June 6 but saw no =
swifts at all.

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville =97 Now both my visual acuity and driving =
skills at night are inadequate for this task of dusk monitoring, so I =
have to quit.=
