JUNE 12/20 - Noggins Corner old bald eagle nest, circa 30 years old?: 2 big fledglings in nest.

JUNE 13/20 - Today Pat & I had a very nice walk in and around Grand Pre Historic Park, and along the rail trail there. Lots of plants in flower, including highbush cranberry, Japanese honeysuckle, red osier dogwood, English hawthorn, blackberry just starting to flower, yellow irises in park ponds, planted lupines & irises & poppies & rhododendrons + azaleas in park gardens, bedstraw, tiny yellow cinquefoils, mouse-ear chickweeds, and tiny yellow Medicago lupulina (common name?).

We also looked briefly at the two bald eagle nests on west Long Island: Leungs’ nest held two big eagle fledglings, and the nest near the road to Evangeline Beach held a single fledgling.

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville.
