It=E2=80=99s good to hear you heard toads trilling. Used to be a common =
sound down here in God=E2=80=99s country, Noso now, and it has been =
decades since I have seen a leopard frog. As well.

=20

Porcupines? Come to think of it, I think I=E2=80=99m seeing fewer road =
corpses than usual=E2=80=A6 Don=E2=80=99t see much differences in =
raccoon number, though.

=20

Good examples of the values of anecdotes! In general, scientists need =
to consider how to put them to use. More often than not, they =
don=E2=80=99t prove a lot (except for some yes/no questions), but they =
can disprove hypotheses and raise questions of varying importance. So I =
always encourage scientists to dismiss anecdotes with great caution. =20

Hi All=20

Last evening I was in Keji listening=20

to the toads thrilling as I fished. First=20

time this year for me. It was a lovely warm=20

June evening. A real jewel standing near a water falls.=20

The toads and the rushing water go well together.=20

About 9:30 I came home - 1.5 hrs drive=20

for me - less for some folks.=20

On the way not a porcupine in sight.=20

Always used to see them and they were a hazard.=20

Has anyone else noted a shortage of them this year?=20

Probably not something that generates a lot of stats.=20

Only saw 2 raccoons - a low number.=20

Enjoy June=20

Paul=20
