Come and learn more about the Sierra Club

(And help us form a local group!)
  • The Sierra Club's 600,000 membership is a voice that is heard in municipal, provincial/state, and national legislatures throughout North America. It's time for that voice to be heard here in Nova Scotia.

The Sierra Club has been active in Canada since 1969, working to influence public policy and environmental awareness. We have local chapters and working groups in every region of the country.

The Sierra Club was founded by naturalist and writer John Muir in 1892 to protect the wilderness of the Sierra Nevada. Over the years, the activities of the Sierra Club have expanded to include issues ranging from climate change and ozone depletion to toxic chemical contamination and loss of biological diversity.
