Clan Beaton in the Lowlands

[Book] Branches of Clan Beaton

[Thin Blue Line]

In the lowlands of Scotland, the name Beaton is said to have evolved from the Anglo-Norman settlers who emigrated to the Lowlands of Scotland from the village of Bethune in Pas de Calais, France.

Beaton remains a frequent surname in Fife, from as far back as 1165.
