The Military Cross

During the Second World War, thousands of MCs were awarded, but only one McCulloch won a Military Cross, another member of the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps - Captain (Acting Major) David William McCullough of the 7th Canadian Light Field Ambulance. His citation reads:

The Military Medal

The equivalent decoration of the MC amongst the non- commissioned officers and soldiers was the Military Medal. Again thousands were awarded but only one McCulloch received the award - Sapper Alexander McCullagh, 16th Canadian Field Company, Royal Canadian Engineers, 3rd Canadian Division. His citation reads:

Two McCullochs serving with the RCAF in the Second World War were awarded Distinguished Flying Crosses. They were:

Flight Officer Maurice Robert McCullagh, 57 Squadron, Bomber Command. Born in Springwater Saskatchewan in 1918 and a resident of Rocky Rapids, Alberta. Joined 1940, he was commissioned from the ranks in 1942. (Gazetted 17 August 1943). His citation reads:

Pilot Officer Robert Borden McCulloch, 434 Sqn, RCAF. Born in Port Hope, Ontario, 1917. He enlisted in 1941 and was commissioned as a pilot 1944. (Gazetted 19 Sep 1944). His citation reads:
