The view downtown. It never ceases to amaze me that after all these years you can still see where the addition to the top of Maritime Mall was constructed.

Photo: New cable end

The webcam problem this time seemed to be coming from the video feed cable. I replaced the cable end with a new one and tied down the cables leading into the camera with some rope I had with me as a temporary measure. The image distortion problem continued.

On closer inspection the webcam video feed cable showed signs of wear. The permanent fix will be to replace the video feed cable at some point when the weather is better. For the winter the best alternative was to tape this up and make it waterproof.

With some fresh Rain Away on the webcam housing lens to keep the water off, the video feed cable taped up and the cables tied down against the winter wind, this was the most that could be done until next summer. The webcam image still has some radio interference on it and the camera itself seems to have shifted in the housing but these will have to be problems for another, warmer day.
