The Nova Scotia Genealogist (ISSN 0714-3672) contains informative articles, letters, sources for research, book reviews, queries, a notice board, a list of recent genealogical related acquisitions at the Nova Scotia Archives and other items regarding the Association. Please refer to the
Contributors' Guidelines for more details.
The Nova Scotia Genealogist is published three times per year; Spring, Summer and Fall.
Electronic Issues of the Nova Scotia Genealogist
Starting in 2011 GANS is offering our members the choice of print or
electronic format for the NSG. The electronic format will be published
as close to concurrently with the print issue as we can manage and it
is substantially the same content, with a few differences. We have
removed all the information that can also be found permanently on our
website, such as the list of publications, the list of institutions
with genealogical holdings, and the contributors' guidelines; added
some colour; and there may also be some small items added that are not
in the print issues. The design is basically the same, but if there's
time, and depending on comments from our members, that may change.
If you are not currently receiving the NSG electronically, why don't
you take a peek at the issues we produced in 2010? Your comments and
suggestions can be sent to nsgeditor@gmail.com. The cost of producing
and distributing the NSG is rising every year and we need to know what
your priorities are for the future of the NSG and the organization.

Queries
Queries submitted for publication must be typewritten or printed clearly and show the name and address of the sender. Unless prepaid a query will not be published. Queries are free for members, non-members pay $6.00 for each query. Queries per person are limited to five (5) per issue. Keep queries to the point to avoid editorial
pruning!
Query submission deadline dates: Spring - February 1st, Summer - June 1st, Fall - October 1st.
Subject Index
The subject index includes Volume I (1983) through Volume XXVIII (2010) of the NSG and the 40 issues of the "Genealogical Newsletter" published by the Genealogical Committee of the Nova Scotia Historical Society between 1972 and 1982.
