Looking back to last year: The 1997 Nova Scotia Chess Challenge was a very successful event with 76 young people participating on March 29, 1997. A report listing all the winners, who qualify for the National championships, is online.

Details: The 12 grade winners win the right to represent Nova Scotia at the Canadian Chess Challenge in Winnipeg on May 17-18, 1998. There the ten provinces compete against one another as teams. Rooms and some meals are provided for all competitors. The players exchange provincial pins and make friends from around the country. This has been an annual event since 1989 and is sponsored in part by the Chess'n Math Association, a National organization devoted to promoting chess and scholastic achievement based in Montreal. For more information contact Chess'n Math .
