The Unama'ki (Cape Breton) Chess Tournament will be played at the Waycobah First Nation High School (next to Rod's OneStop Gas Station, Whycocomagh, Cape Breton) from June 26-28, 1998.


Registration:  	Friday June 26, 1998, 6:00-6:30 P.M.

Location: 	Waycobah First Nation High School

Format:   	5-Round Swiss

Time Control:  	30 moves in 90 minutes followed by sudden death in 1 hour.

Entry Fee:     	$25.00 ($20.00 Students, Seniors, Disabled, Juniors)
          	Free entry for new Chess Federation of Canada members.

Required: 	Chess Federation of Canada membership required to play. 
          	Memberships can be purchased at site.

Rounds:   	Friday    Round 1   7:00 P.M.
          	Saturday  Round 2   10:00 A.M.
          	Saturday  Round 3   4:00 P.M.
          	Sunday    Round 4   9:00 A.M.
          	Sunday    Round 5   3:00 P.M.

Prize Fund: 	Open 1st / Trophy / Cash . . . (Prizes will depend on 
		number of participants entered.)  Sectional prizes 
		will depend on number of entries also.

Whycocomagh is on the Trans Canada Highway about 1/2 hour past the Canso Causway going along towards Baddeck, Cape Breton. There are two hotels in the area . . . The Fair Isle Motel (1-902-756-2291) and the Aberdeen Motel (1-902-756-2331), they offer reasonable rates and are only a couple of minutes away. Also, there are a couple of trailer parks for those who like to camp out.
