The Dartmouth Library event was a fine success on Saturday, March 8, 1997. 76 kids took part, a credit to Roy Yetman's organizing and the Library staff for helping promote the event. Roy Yetman and Don Bidgood organized while I directed (and tried to keep chaos at bay). Cedric Davies and Jonathan Bjornson also helped me keep track of things. The event ran very smoothly as a result. Steve Saunders was also present and took quite a few digital photos so look for them on the website.

The winners in each section were:

Advanced:	1st Jason Kenney	2nd Jarrett Gabriel
Novice		1st Alex Livingston	2nd Joel Morin
Beginner	1st Chris Witters	2nd Stefan Behme

I was quite pleased with the play in the novice section where the top two won over other kids up to grade 7 despite being in grades 4 and 3 respectively. The ratio of girls to boys was about 2 boys for every girl which is much better than usual.
